My top 4 ways to guarantee you have an unplugged wedding!
These will help ensure that your loved ones are actually present during your ceremony, and you get to have perfect unobstructed photos!
- The most important tip: Have the officiant announce that you would like all cell phones turned off and stowed away. It should have explicit directions that you two want absolutely no photos or videos of any kind taken during the ceremony because it’s important that everyone is truly experiencing the moment with you. This is most effective because they will have absolutely everyone’s attention just moments before you walk down the aisle!
Bonus: If you realllllly want to ensure no phones are out, have baskets under each chair and have the officiant ask that everyone present set their phones there and leave it until the conclusion of the ceremony!
2. Word of mouth – yep!!! Tell your parents to share that no cell phones are allowed with their friends and family members. Don’t understand the power of the wedding rumor mill!
3. Unplugged wedding sign – while this is definitely a must-do that I highly recommend for every wedding, just remember not everyone sees it or pays attention unfortunately which is why the other steps are so important!! Also, not everyone will know what “unplugged” means so make sure to state that it means no cell phones or Ipads out!
4. Your wedding website – Put it in the details of your wedding ceremony AND on your FAQ page to make sure anyone who looks at your website doesn’t miss it!
