Are you planning a SLO wedding and looking for things for you and your guests to do while you’re there? This blog is perfect for you to reference and share with friends!!!

I’m a wedding photographer in California and went to school in San Luis Obispo! I travel back often for weddings, elopements, and just for fun! It truly is the happiest place in the nation (as named by Oprah several years ago!!!). Below you’ll find recommendations for places to eat and things to do for your SLO wedding week!

Coffee

Scout – Hands down my favorite coffee shop. The coffee is amazing and the cafe is adorable!!

Kreuzberg – One of the first local & hipster coffee shops!

Libertine – Connected to a downtown brewery and easy to pop in for a great cup of coffee!

Breakfast and lunch

Seeds – This is right across from Scout coffee! I recommend grabbing a coffee and then walking across the street to Seeds. The BEST acaí bowls & avocado toast in town!!!

Slo Donut co – Super popular SLO donut shop!

High Street Deli – the absolute best sandwiches I have literally ever had!!!

Honeymoon Cafe – Healthy & hippy breakfast spot in Pismo!! I love it!

Bliss Cafe – If you or anyone in your group is vegan, this spot is amazing!!!

Dinner

Flour House – Favorite Italian spot for dinner!! Pasta is made in house and the drinks are incredible! Perfect balance of cozy and trendy!

Luna Red – If you love tapas, make sure to stop here! Their patio seating is especially gorgeous

Novo – A slightly more upscale restaurant with a beautiful outside patio along the creek

Splash Cafe – Love clam chowder? This place is a MUST.

Fire Stone BBQ Grill – To be honest, I feel like this spot is a littleeee overhyped, but having a tri-tip sandwich here is basically a rite of passage if you’re visiting SLO!

Things to do

Thursday farmers market – The main street of downtown is blocked off in the evening for this weekly market! Come hungry and ready to buy local produce, dinner, dessert, & so much more! Tons of incredible vendors and activities!!!

Kayak or rent an electric bike in Avila!!!

Hearst Castle – This is about a 40 minute drive from SLO but is super cool if you haven’t been!!! Click the link to read more about this historic estate!

Wineries – There are sooo many incredible wineries just 10 minutes outside of SLO!!

Lounge at one of these beaches – Avila, Pismo, Shell, Morro Bay!

Hike at one of these – Bishops, Madonna, Shell Beach, Montana de Oro
