I absolutely LOVE capturing proposals as a Sacramento and San Francisco proposal photographer! There are so many gorgeous spots to have your photos taken in either location! Whether you’re opting for the busy streets of the city, a hidden corner in a beautiful park, or during an incredible hike!! There are so many amazing spots to consider!!!
In this case, Aaron reached out to me about proposing to his beautiful girlfriend of several years, Darlene!! It was so fun because I’d actually taken their graduate school photos just a few months back before this! So when I got an inquiry from Aaron about proposing in this same spot, I was over the moon excited to take them!!!
If you plan to hire a photographer to capture your proposal, make sure you consider how you’ll coordinate with them to capture the moment! Plus make sure their packages include photos during and after you pop the question!! You’ll want a few special photos taken once the adrenaline lessens and you’re enjoying this huge moment together!!!
So it’s super important to think through this part: will you come up with a reason for hiring a professional photographer or will you have the photographer hide and take them from afar?
This part is really dependent on your preference!! The big pro to having a fake reason for a photographer is that the photos are often guaranteed to be perfect!! The photographer can direct you for the perfect proposal position and you don’t have to worry about making sure you’re in the right spot! However, if there’s not a good reason and you think it’d be suspicious, then you may want to opt for a hidden photographer!!
In Aaron’s case, he had just passed the bar and he told Darlene that his mom requested photos to celebrate the occasion!! It was the perfect ruse!!
