I decided I wanted to become a Northern CA wedding photographer through my own wedding experience as a bride!! I had always loved capturing candids of people even just on an iPhone!! However, getting my own photos done at my engagement shoot is what made me realize this was absolutely for me!!!
First of all,
I used to loathe being in front of the camera! If you think you’re awkward in front of the camera or not photogenic, I promise you I felt that way times 100! I remember being super nervous on the way to my own engagement shoot. Fast forward to after the shoot, I realized I could make people feel comfortable and gorgeous in front of the camera because I completely understand that feeling!!! Though I’m of course not for everyone, I’m extremely outgoing and goofy!! I thought maybe I could make a positive impact on someone’s wedding photo experience who appreciates my high energy!!!
Second,
My personal wedding experience made me realize there is SO much more to capturing beautiful photos than just taking the photos. From my own experience as a bride, I was determined to not only become a wedding photographer but one that cared deeply about each and every couple I’m lucky to work with!!! The magic of taking beautiful photos has everything to do with taking the time to get to know my couples!! Then calibrating every session I have to them!!! While I do have a very fun and candid style, I will alwayssss adjust to the personalities of my couples!!!
As part of that wedding experience, I also wanted to provide more than just the photos!!! From my own experience as a bride and the dozens of weddings I’ve shot, I’ve learned a ton about the planning process!!! That’s why I share multiple guides throughout the process that I hope can help my couples beyond just photography!!!
In summary, I became a wedding photographer because I wholeheartedly believe that every couple should have the BEST wedding photos and the BEST experience from a photographer that cares about them!!!
