These Lake Tahoe engagement photos have to be some of my all time favorite!!
First of all, Kat and Ryan are two of the biggest sweethearts! They met me bright and early in Lake Tahoe so that we could capture sunrise photos at Emerald Bay. While it was still a gorgeous morning, I do have to point out that these photos were taken during some California wildfires so the sunrise is a bit softer and less vibrant than it would usually be on a clear morning. It was still absolutely breathtaking though, and I can’t recommend this location enough!!
Kat and Ryan wanted a mix of above lake views, forest, and on the beach! Emerald bay was only about 10 minutes from this secluded beach spot which made it perfect! We didn’t see a single person at the beach until we left, which was ideal! If you’re planning engagement photos in a popular place like Lake Tahoe, I always recommend sunrise sessions unless you know of a private spot that’s perfect for sunset photos! There are always less people out early in the morning and the photos are equally as beautiful. Just make sure you have a coffee in hand all morning though of course!!!
These two are easy going and definitely took advantage of the sleepy early morning to cuddle and relax in each other’s arms effortlessly throughout the session! Afterwards they met up with family for a day of adventuring!! They planned this session around a family trip and I can’t recommend this enough! If you’re booking a session in a gorgeous destination type place, make a vacation out of it!! Then you’ll have the photos not only for your wedding, but as a memory of an incredible trip together! If you’re taking them locally, head to a date brunch or dinner right after (depending on time of day!). It’s not everyday you get dressed up and spin each other around, so make it a memory beyond just the photos!!
