Big Sur engagement photos may just be some of my favorites ever!!!
There’s a reason California’s Highway 1 is so famous- the scenic drive wrapping around the cliffs and overlooking the turquoise ocean is unbelievably beautiful!! I always recommend to my couples that they make their engagement session an adventure! When else in your life do you have such an incredible excuse to finallyyyy go to that bucket list location?! Now is the time to book your day or weekend trip to Big Sur and have your story captured!!
In Malika and Andre’s case, they actually happened to be celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary and thought of this day as a mini celebration!!! They drove all the way from Sacramento this morning to get to Big Sur by 9:30am! That’s about a three hour drive! One of them is a self-proclaimed “not morning person” haha, so we opted to meet late morning and stay on the northern side of Big Sur!
While I pretty much always recommend sunrise or sunset for the best/softest lighting, that’s not always possible (like in this case)! Plus there’s something to be said about daytime photos when done strategically!! In direct lighting, the colors are going to be super vibrant and rich. And when you’re somewhere like Big Sur, I ain’tttt complaining!!! I mean look at those BLUES!!!!
Here’s a quick summary of our 1.5 hours together! We started at Bixby Creek bridge, and then made our way to Garrapata state beach!!! At just these two locations, there is such a variety of backgrounds!!! If you’re feeling brave, it would be so fun to splash around in the water too!!!
If you’re looking for Big Sur engagement photos, reach out!!! I would LOVE to be a part of your day!!! I also have a bunch of recommendations for hikes, activities, and food places while you’re there!!
