Rachel Christopherson Sacramento California Engagement Sunset Save the Date

I feel so lucky these two chose me to be their Sacramento engagement photographer! Obviously, the shoot was already documenting a super exciting time in their lives. But this represented even more than a promise of marriage. These photos were taken shortly after the two moved back to their hometown of Sacramento after over a decade of living in Southern California.

The two grew up in Sacramento and went to rival high schools, but they didn’t officially meet until their third year at UCLA. Sparks flew instantly and the two started dating shortly after meeting! The two have shared so many incredible memories together. From country concerts, to road tripping across the US, to adopting their sweet golden retriever- these two had six amazing years of dating.

The Engagement Story

Then in the spring of 2019, Michael got down on one knee in the cute little beach town of Hermosa Beach, CA. He pulled out all the stops! He hired a photographer to capture the proposal and then they had a beach engagement photoshoot with their puppy, Bailey. Michael claimed next up was a quiet dinner for the two of them to celebrate. When they walked into the restaurant, their parents were already waiting for them! Alex was so surprised and it was then that she shared the news with all of her best friends.

BUT, there was still one surprise left! After dinner, Alex and Michael went to their favorite bar with their parents for some celebratory drinks. When they walked to the back room, all of their best friends were waiting! Kudos to Michael for pulling off not one, but three surprises all in one amazing night they’ll never forget!

Not long after they got engaged, they decided it was time to move back home where they could be closer to family and pivot their careers. Alex is an ICU nurse and Michael is now a firefighter (yep, they BOTH save lives for a living! Could they be more perfect?!!!). These two amazing humans are getting married in San Luis Obispo in summer 2020!
