If you’ve been dreaming of Coronado engagement photos, this session is for you! Coronado is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to photograph a couple’s or engagement session!!! This beautiful little island sits right off the San Diego coast and is home to a naval base. Many of the naval families live here, which is why it was perfect for Dillon and Aleah!!

Dillon is in the navy and was transferred to this base just over a year ago. The two are originally from Nebraska and welcomed a new adventure in California! I’m so glad they did because these two are the absolute sweetest and I feel so lucky I got to meet them. The two were so positive and giggly the entire shoot- aka my kind of people!!! It was all the more impressive because this was a sunrise shoot! We all arrived with coffee in hand and ready to start our day off right! 

This was actually my first sunrise shoot ever and it did not disappoint! There are so many benefits to a morning shoot and I honestly can’t wait until the next one! For starters, the beach was pretty much all ours! The skies were also such a unique turquoise color as the sun popped up behind the city. It was beyond stunning! 

But there is one more detail that really made this the most perfect day. They brought their sweet pup, Daisy with them!! She was the absolute sweetest and so photogenic!! We were on a dog beach so it was the perfect setup! We had Daisy in the first few photos and then let her run around and play while we kept an eye on her. She’d run back to us and grace us with her presence for a few more photos, and then move on again!! Everybody was happy!

We ended the session by running through the warm San Diego waters with Daisy!!! The perfect playful ending to a perfect morning! For more tips on how to have a successful engagement shoot with your pup, click here!!
