This Sacramento River engagement session was an absolute dream!! The River Road in Sacramento California is one of my absolute favorite places in the world to take engagement photos. It’s lined with golden fields, gorgeous trees, and tons of character. I spent so much of my own childhood out there, it will forever have a special place in my heart! Plus it just makes me want to blast country music on the radio!!

But back to this amazing couple!! Danielle and Sam were so much fun during the shoot and brought their adorable weiner dog, Simon!! Aren’t they the sweetest little family ever?! I’m obsessed with dogs and absolutely love when my couples bring them to their engagement shoots! We started up above the water in front of a beautiful white fence and then made our way down to an empty public dock for some photos right on the water!! It was so magical and  the sunset created the most beautiful soft light.

We then spent our time in Walnut Grove exploring the town and the variety of backgrounds. We found this ice cream shop that had the most beautiful rustic side paneling. It was fun adding a totally unique and timeless background to their session! 

Then we wrapped up their golden hour session amongst the grape fields and tree-lined road. I love that they shared some poses they specifically wanted- like Simon running towards them!! One of my favorite parts of any session is incorporating my couple’s specific vision!

Danielle and Sam are having an intimate ranch wedding in Sacramento, CA, in June 2020. They are super crafty and DIYing most of their decor!! I can’t wait to see the final personalized details come together. I’m so excited for these two lovebirds and their upcoming wedding!
